Project Description: |
York Street Interchange is currently a traffic signal controlled junction, which lies at the intersection of the A12 Westlink, M2 and M3 motorways. The area is crossed by elevated motorway and rail links and road users currently experience long delays and congestion at peak periods travelling through the signalised junction. The aim of the scheme is to improve the strategic links between the Westlink and M2 and M3 motorways. An initial assessment undertaken in 2006 concluded that it would be feasible to completely remodel the existing junction to create a ‘grade separated’ interchange within the constraints of the existing structures and road layout. This will allow free flowing traffic between the M1 / Westlink and the M2 and M3. |
